Is the Modern Media a Feral Beast ?

In your view, is it also healthy to deliberately confuse news and comment and blur any distinction between factual reporting and opinion ?

Is it healthy for media organisations to have political affiliations ?

Mass Media is the fourth pillar of our democracy. It is supposed to hold to account the first three pillars for their acts of omission and commission in the court of public opinion.

But what we are witnessing recently is that media organisations have open or subtle political affiliations. While every individual, being a member of society as well as a citizen, will have his or her own politics and political views, is it healthy if media organisations as entities start plugging for one political formation or the other ? Can reporting and the editorial content remain objective in this case ?
