The glam quotient of electronic media jobs

Youngsters nowadays have a craze for jobs in the electronic media - television and radio because of the higher glamour quotient of TV where a successful anchor or reporter could become a national celebrity and a face or voice that people can recognise and relate to. However, print media also builds solid foundations for journalists and many of the successful television personalities of today have made the journey from the print medium to the electronic media. The two are not water tight compartments and movement from one to the other can happen easily and seamlessly and gives wider experience to the journalist. Also, many media houses in India have a presence in both the electronic and the print media. If a professional has experience in both and also in new media, he or she stands a better chance to head such organisations at a later stage in their career.
