A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS DHANTERAS TO ALL :-) MAY YOU BE RICH, PROSPEROUS AND ABOVE ALL - HAPPY :-)

A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS DHANTERAS TO ALL :-) MAY YOU BE RICH, PROSPEROUS AND ABOVE ALL - HAPPY :-)

Dhanteras and Diwali are Indian festivals where wealth and prosperity are celebrated and worshipped. It is an occasion - like all other Indian festivals - to bond with family and friends. It is considered auspicious to shop for family, relatives and friends and especially to buy metallic objects on Dhanteras - gold, silver, gold biscuits, idols made of silver as well as utensils and cutlery for the kitchen. These festivals lead to a consumption boom and like Christmas in the west, Dhanteras and Diwali give a fillip and a leg up to the economy boosted by consumption saving. Some people also purchase gold bonds, shares, debentures, stocks during the mahurat trading on the stock markets on Diwali (it is not considered auspicious to sell during the Mahurat trading session ;)

Infrastructure @ IIMM

Infrastructure

Much investment has happened and is a regular input every year in infrastructure at IIMM. Among the institutions providing mass media training and education, IIMM has two dedicated teaching blocks, one corporate office, a fully tech enabled modern conference hall, and completely fitted out studios for television, newsroom, radio and photography. IIMM has invested significantly in its infrastructure for practical training and teaching. This includes a DAVP approved bilingual newspaper 'Yuva Udaan' with RNI Number which provides a live experience for our students of print journalism to work on a bilingual newspaper. We have invested in a live broadcast studio with PCR controls, console, TV newsreading studio with lights and multi camera, foot and hand controlled teleprompter, with facility for in campus broadcast and anchoring across all our teaching facilities and buildings, a live broadcast radio and sound studio which is also broadcast on campus and anchored and produced by the students of IIMM. We have invested in the latest motion and still cameras for film, television and photography. IIMM students produce films for the institute as well as on live commercial projects. Our Faculty comprises practising mass media and electronic media professionals. They are able to use these facilities to groom our students for their real day to day work in the industry. The infrastructure is used by mass media professionals as well as many of our faculty members for the production of actual programmes and shoots which are commercially deployed, thereby giving IIMM a presence in the market through our production arm as well as giving our students an opportunity to be a part of this real life industry. Our students benefit from this real experience making their training more work oriented and useful for actual placement.
